Candle Care

By following these care instructions, you can maximise the lifespan and enjoyment of your candles while ensuring safety.

1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch (about 0.6 cm) to prevent excessive smoking and soot buildup.

2. Burn Time: Allow your candle to burn for at least two hours during its initial use to ensure that the entire top layer of wax melts evenly to the edge of the jar, preventing tunneling.

3. Keep Away from Drafts: Place your candle in an area where it won't be exposed to drafts, as this can cause uneven burning and dripping.

4. Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish your candle. Avoid blowing out the candle, as this can lead to splattering wax.

5. Avoid Over burning: Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Excessive burning can lead to the candle jar becoming too hot and potentially cracking.

6. Keep the Wax Pool Clean: After each burn, ensure that the wax pool is free of wick trimmings or debris to maintain a clean and efficient burn.

7. Store Properly: Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to prevent them from melting or becoming discolored.

8. Safety First: Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Ensure the candle is placed on a stable surface.

9. Discontinue Use at 1/2 Inch: When the wax level reaches about 1/2 inch (about 1.3 cm) from the bottom of the jar, discontinue use to prevent the container from overheating.

10. Repurpose or Recycle: Once your candle is finished, consider repurposing the container or recycling it responsibly.
